The Paladins are the famous characters from the works of the puppets, Pupi from the Latin pupus meaning little child, or the armed puppets of the popular epic theatre which, probably originating from the Spain of Don Quixote, operated from the first half of the 19th century in Sicily, where it reached the height of its fame.

Six “Brioche col tuppo” prepared by the Ottagono pastry shop, located on the slopes of Mount Etna. These typical Catania delicacies have been baked daily in Mascalucia since 1983.
If you’ve ever travelled to Catania, you’ll certainly have tasted this delicacy accompanied by a delicious almond and pistachio granita!

Minnuzze design

Artistic design minnows made by Studio Andrea Guardo in Catania.

This type of design object is inspired by cassatella (minnuzzi ri Sant’Àjita in Sicilian), a traditional sweet from Catania, a small Sicilian cassata in the shape of a breast, symbolising the martyrdom suffered by the Catanese saint Sant’Agata.

Each minnuzza is made of plaster and enamelled by hand. The box includes 2 items and it is possible to ship them all over Italy.

Cassata Siciliana

Cassata siciliana from Bar Ottagono, located on the slopes of Mount Etna.

Cassata is made with Sicilian sheep’s ricotta cheese, carefully following the ancient Catania recipe.

Shelf life: about 60 days
Storage: -18°C
Consumption: +4°C

Main ingredients: sheep ricotta cheese, candied fruit
Weight: about 1.3 kg (about 12 portions)
The cake is shipped by refrigerated courier at -18°C. We recommend ordering as early as possible so that you can proceed with the preparation. From the time it is dispatched, cassata has a shelf life of about 60 days if stored in the freezer at about -18°C. Defrost before consumption at +4°C.
